Apple, interested in buying or investing in the McLaren group

The iPhone company seems to be willing to bring speed for its project of autonomous cars. Apple is considering a full acquisition of McLaren or a strategic investment in the Formula 1 automaker; the negotiations began months ago, but still would not have reached any agreement.

A spokesman of the British automaker said, “We can confirm that McLaren is not in discussions with Apple regarding a potential investment in the company (…) As you might expect, the nature of our brand it means that regularly have confidential discussions with a wide range of companies, but we maintain confidentiality…”

Apple is negotiating to invest in McLaren. But not only that. Tim Cook’s company would be also in talks to acquire Lit Motors, a startup project in San Francisco that develops an electric motorcycle that balances itself. Carried out, both operations would give Apple weapons to dominate the transport of the future. McLaren has extensive experience in automotive engineering, ranging from computer systems on board until knowledge into new materials to manufacture chassis and carbon fiber and aluminum.

Although, Apple had never confirmed the existence of a project of a car but it’s been assumes that the firm has been working on an autonomous electric vehicle for two years. The company had formed a team of approximately 1,000 employees with internal and external personnel to disembark in this business, which also work Google, Tesla and Uber, among others.
