Develop an area of expertise, but understand what you also lack.

Alibaba founder Jack Ma was in Detroit this week for the Gateway’17 conference and during an interview with CNBC, the e-commerce mogul said that those with a knowledge of how to analyze and apply data would be the most professionally fit in the future.

Ma explained that this is just the beginning of the data age. He said that we believe that data will be very important for human life in the future, that we do not know how data can make money today, but we know we have to protect data security.

Ma is not the only leader with great opinions about what and how people need to learn to progress at work, read the advice of five other founders about the required skills that each one should develop to work within a budget.

  1. Richard Branson
The English entrepreneur says that communication makes the world spins. It makes human connections much easy, allowing us to grow through learning and then to progress. It is not just talking or reading, but to understand what has been said, and in some cases what has not been said.

  1. Elon Musk
Elon Musk points out that most people can learn much more than they think they can. They sell themselves little without trying. A little tip: it is important to see knowledge as a kind of semantic tree, be sure to understand the fundamental principles, i.e the trunk and the large branches, before entering the leaves / details or there is nothing so that they can be hung.

  1. Bill Gates
Microsoft founder states all careers in the future will be very demanding in such things. The most necessary thing is that you will write code, but you need to understand what the engineers can do and what they cannot do.

  1. Mark Zuckerberg
Facebook guy says that nobody does it alone. When you see most of the great things that have been done in the world, they have not been made by one person, so you are going to need to build a team. You will need people who have complementary skills. No matter how talented you are, there are going to be things you do not bring to the table.

  1. Jeff Bezos
Frugality leads to innovation, as do other constraints. One of the only ways to get out of a bind is to invent your way out. When we were (first) trying to acquire customers, he said they did not have money to spend on advertising budgets.

Follow the advices of some of these greatest investors, and become a start up by giving the chance to grow your business as these people have done since they started their business.
