Forbes magazine announced its annual ranking of the world’s richest men and women, with 2,043 people with fortunes of more than $ 1 billion – three of them Colombians.

And while everyone believes that Donald Trump, the current president of the United States, has a countless fortune, his empire is not enough to be even among the 20 richest on the planet – instead, occupy 544.

This year’s edition adds 195 people to the Forbes ranking, with China as the leading nation (76 new), followed by the United States (25), India (13) and Germany (5).

For the first time Vietnamese Viaduct Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao, owner of VietJet Air, and Juan Francisco Beckmann Vidal, president of tequila maker José Cuervo, joined the group of the twenty richest people in the world.

Of all the people on the list, there are 227 women, of whom 74 are American, 28 are German and 23 are Chinese.

The world’s richest woman is Liliane Bettencourt of the L’Oréal cosmetics group, ranked 14th overall by Forbes, with a fortune estimated at $ 39.5 billion.

By country, the United States is the nation with the largest number of billionaires, with a total of 565, followed by China (319), Germany (114), India (101) and Russia (96).
